3 Weeks Growth
Please allow at least 3 weeks of hair growth. It is always best for the hair to be too long rather than too short. If the hair is too short, we will not be able to wax. Avoid trimming yourself, if it is needed we prefer to do the trimming for you.
Exfoliate
Gently exfoliate the day before your appointment, this helps to remove dead skin buildup aiding in easier and more thorough hair removal. Exfoliating regularly (3 to 4 times a week) is crucial to minimize in-grown hairs and maintain healthy skin.
Limit Caffeine
You may want to avoid caffeine prior to your appointment as it may lead to increased skin sensitivity.
Ibuprofen
Taking ibuprofen prior to your appointment may help to reduce some of the discomfort you may experience.
Tanning
Avoid the use of tanning beds for two days before and after your waxing appointment. Spray tanning should be done 24 hours after your wax.
On your cycle?
While your skin may be slightly more sensitive, you can still be waxed. A tampon or menstrual cup is required for Brazilian services.
Why should I wax?
When hair is waxed, it grows back finer, unlike the stubble you get when shaving, resulting in feeling smoother for longer. Waxing also lasts significantly longer than other hair removal methods. The more you wax, the better the results.
What should I avoid after?
We recommend waiting 24-48 hours before doing any activities that will cause you to get hot or sweaty. No working out, pools, or hot tubs. Avoid the sun and tanning beds.
Bikini or a Brazilian?
A bikini wax is everything that would be outside the panties and a little off the top. A Brazilian wax is all hair removed from the front to back and everything in between. Some hair may remain if you choose (such as a triangle or landing strip).
How long does a Brazilian take?
It depends on the individual. Typically it takes between 15-30 minutes. Most Brazilians are done in the 15 minutes or less; quick but not without compassion!
What if I am pregnant?
We wax women all the way up until their due date. Some women feel a little more sensitive, but not all.
Medications to avoid?
If you are on Accutane or have been during the past year, you should wait a year after stopping before receiving waxing services. If you use Retin-A, glycolic acid, salicylic, or other acid treatments you may not be waxed for up to 2 weeks after you have stopped using them.
How long will the results last?
If you have been shaving, there may be a transition period. It generally requires 2-3 consistent waxes to achieve optimal results. Typically the area remains hair free for at least 2 weeks. The more consistent you are with waxing, the better the results. After several waxes with no shaving in between the hair becomes softer, finer, and sparser.
What kind of wax do you use?
We use the highest quality waxes specially formulated for sensitive skin. Hard wax is used for all Brazilian waxing.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we are by appointment only. We cannot accept walk ins. Please arrive on time to avoid losing your appointment. If you need to reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you may be expected to pay 50% of your service as a no show fee.
